Insurance & billing
Clear answers about cost and coverage
We want the financial side of care to be simple, so you can focus on feeling better. Here's what to know about insurance, self-pay rates, and payments.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We are in-network with the following plans:
- Aetna
- Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO
- UnitedHealthcare
- Medicare
Being in-network means we have a contract with these companies to accept their negotiated rates and collect any balance after insurance processes your claim. You may still be responsible for copays, deductibles, and coinsurance; once your claim is processed, we'll bill you for any applicable amount.
We recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card to verify your mental health benefits and expected costs. Please let us know about any changes to your insurance as soon as possible. If your insurance becomes inactive or is no longer accepted, self-pay rates apply.
What if my insurance isn't listed?
For all other plans, we are considered out-of-network. You'll pay our self-pay rate at the time of service, and we can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined by your insurance company and isn't guaranteed; questions about denials or appeals should be directed to your insurer.
Self-pay rates
- Psychiatric intake (initial evaluation)$600
- Psychiatric follow-up visit$300
Payment is due prior to or at the time of service. We're not able to offer sliding-scale rates for psychiatry services at this time.
What fees should I expect?
You are responsible for the total cost of services, including deductibles, copayments, out-of-pocket costs, and any late-cancellation or missed-appointment fees. We require an active credit card on file to schedule appointments, and our wellness coordinators will help you with any pending payments on or before your date of service.
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late-cancellation and no-show fees are not covered by insurance and are non-refundable.
Understanding superbills
What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed statement summarizing the services you received. It includes diagnosis codes (ICD-10) that explain the reason for your visit, procedure codes (CPT) that describe the services provided, and the charges for each service.
How do I use a superbill for reimbursement?
- Request it from our office after your visit.
- Submit it to your insurer. Call member services or visit their website for instructions.
- Insurance reviews the claim and determines reimbursement based on your out-of-network benefits.
- Get reimbursed. You'll receive a check or an explanation of what will be paid. You may be responsible for any remaining balance.
What's the difference between a superbill and an EOB?
A superbill comes from your provider and summarizes the services rendered. An Explanation of Benefits (EOB) comes from your insurance company after a claim is processed and shows the amount billed, the amount covered, and your remaining responsibility (copays, deductibles, or coinsurance).
How do I make a payment?
Payments are made through a secure, encrypted credit card processing system, and you can view statements and pay through the patient portal. We do not accept cash, checks, Zelle, or Venmo.
