Mental health care that treats the root cause

Are you looking for a more comprehensive approach to your mental health? Our integrative psychiatrist and physician assistants combine conventional and natural treatments to help you achieve lasting wellness, not just manage symptoms.

What is functional & integrative psychiatry?

We go beyond traditional psychiatry by exploring the underlying causes of mental health challenges. Our team combines conventional psychiatric care with evidence-based complementary approaches, considering how your mind, body, and environment interconnect.

We look at your genetics, health history, environment, and lifestyle to create a truly personalized path to wellness. That might include medication, but it might also include lab work, nutrition, sleep, and stress-reduction strategies.

Our comprehensive approach may include

  • A thorough psychiatric evaluation of your medical and mental health history
  • Advanced diagnostic testing, including lab work and genetic medication testing when appropriate
  • Medication management when needed
  • Nutritional interventions and targeted supplements
  • Mind-body practices such as mindfulness
  • Sleep and stress-management strategies
  • Preventive strategies for long-term wellness

Functional and metabolic psychiatry

Metabolic health and mental health are closely connected. Blood sugar regulation, insulin resistance, inflammation, nutrient status, thyroid function and sleep can all influence mood, energy, focus and anxiety, and some psychiatric medications can affect metabolism in turn.

As part of a functional and metabolic approach, your provider may look at relevant lab work, review how your current medications affect weight and metabolic health, and build nutrition, movement and sleep into your plan alongside medication when it's needed. The goal is to heal the body, brain and mind together.

Care for adults at every stage of life

We see young adults navigating school, work, and identity; adults balancing careers and families; and older adults managing mood, memory, and sleep changes, including concerns about dementia and cognitive health. We are in-network with Medicare as well as several commercial plans.
